Ali's Art

Ali came home from school with this artwork. On the bottom there is information about Ali. I asked what this was. She told me it was for the art gallery. I remembered in February she had brought home a form letter stating if we wanted to view "our child's" artwork that it was being displayed at this gallery. There were 5 tickets enclosed. At the time I wondered why we would drive all that way and pay money (because we have 7 in our family) to see this. I recently attended parent teacher conferences and found out that Alison's artwork was chosen out of the whole 1st grade to have displayed. I was not happy that the school did not inform me of this. Her teacher said she went and the owner told her that Alison's was her favorite out of all the schools that had art displayed. We totally missed out on making Ali feel special (and a good scrapbook page)all because of poor communication! To top it off. The picture at the bottom is of her making this painting. It was on crazy hair day! Why, Why, Why???? The artwork is of her and 4 of her favorite things about her body (her painted fingernails and toenails, her Teeth and her face). The hair was of paint that she blew out with a straw. I thought it looked pretty cool.

Easter Sunday

We had a fun Easter. The kids had a good time finding their baskets. Rylie already digging into the candy.
Emily is not sure what is happening.

Alison is happy with what the Easter bunny brought her.

I don't think this picture looks like Jacob.

Joshua told us exactly where the Easter bunny was going to hide his basket. And amazingly enough it was in that exact spot!

We had our traditional conference breakfast. We were waiting for Ryan's family and Mom and Dad to show up. We finally had to eat without them.

While watching conference Darren and the kids had some fun the with candy.

I made a turkey. I tried a new approach and cooked it in the crockpot. It was good. I liked that it freed up the oven. We will cook it that way again. We had a very enjoyable day. Happy Easter!

The Day Before Easter.

Today was the day of the Ward Easter Egg Hunt, and I was in charge of it. The kids helped me fill a little over 600 eggs. We had about 60 kids show up. Next year, if I am still the Ward Activity Chairman, we will have to do more. I took Ali and Jacob with me to hide the eggs at a park close to the church. They thought that was fun but it was much colder than we expected. The whole week was 70 degrees, but today it was 42 degrees with a wind chill of 20 degrees. One person said that one year they had to find eggs on top of snow. All the kids loved it.After we came home we put Emily down for a nap and colored eggs.Jacob mixed colorsAli gave detail.Josh covered his eggs with stickers.Rylie had fun making plain, but colorful eggs.We figured out that we can watch conference on the computer last year. This year we put a baby monitor in the office so we could listen to conference while we ate lunch. We had a fun day.
